For years sns has been supporting the street children's village in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas. What has happened there is briefly reproduced here.
Construction of a broom workshop
In collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano, brooms and other cleaning materials are produced to give work to poor families. Currently, ten families have a fixed income.
In the workshop there also work children mothers. They live in the House of Refuge, which was commissioned in 2018. Here live children who have already become mothers. In this house they can feel safe and get human warmth. Here it is where perhaps for the first time their dignity as a human is valued and respected.
Here they not only get accomodation and food but also receive a modest wage for their work and are allowed to experience community.
Farm
Natrure is a good therapist for traumatized children. Here distraction is provided. Here also valuable food for personal use and for sale is produced.
